Why buy our rotors when there are flashier or cheaper options? Because our rotors
are designed to stop you first and foremost. Vent holes are sized to maximize stopping
power without causing pulsation, vibration, or accelerated pad wear. Pad contact
surface is full-face width to ensure more powerful, quieter stops. We computer
model them before we test in the field, ensuring they perform at or better than the
specifications of the most respected OEM bicycle manufacturers.
Contes Engineering disc brake rotors are cut from high-quality 316 stainless steel,
then surface finished using a proprietary technique that ensures faster, quieter
break-in with less scoring. We are proud of our in-house designs and quality, so
we print our name right on the rotor where you can see it.
Our rotors are not provided with new bolts. Please see our Hardware page for a
selection of different bolts that will suit your equipment and taste.
Breaking in, or “burnishing” new brakes is strongly recommended for the best long-term
wear of your new brake pads and rotors. Contes Engineering recommends replacing
your brake pads when installing a new rotor. Instructions on how to burnish your
new pads and/or rotor is provided with your rotor purchase, and also available on
our Service Info page.
